Express Entry is the most popular immigration pathway to Canadian Permanent Residence. If you are a skilled worker with the right experience, skills, and background, you might be able to make Canada your permanent home through Express Entry.
Federal Skilled Worker
Under the Express Entry system, a federal skilled worker is one such immigration stream that grants permanent residency to selected newcomers. An applicant’s capability to immigrate to Canada and economically settle down is the primary criterion in assessing the federal skilled worker applications.
All skilled immigration applicants that are eligible for the Express Entry System will be placed in a pool of candidates. Candidates in the pool are then ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS is used to determine which applicants in the pool will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
Eligibility: Candidates applying under this category must have worked full-time for a minimum of one year (1560 Hours) or equivalent part-time within the last ten years, preceding the date of application. Additionally, applicants must have completed a diploma or degree or have a secondary school Certificate equivalent to Canadian Education to qualify. For language proficiency, a skilled Worker must take approved language tests in English or French and get a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in all abilities.
